Things like the awful Mall Directory "You Are Here"-style map. I suspect a lot of the same foibles of the base game will remain. I'm looking forward to what the expansion brings. Made the character that's now my main, a quasi-frost mage Technomancer and have been loving it. Decided to try it again after the New Horizons update and I couldn't put it down. Got my pyromancer to end game, fizzled out, and then deleted it. Like others, I gave launch Outriders a lot of grief for their bugs and glitches and questionable design choices. I felt like I got more than my money's worth but this isn't a long term live service game. It didn't take me long though to figure out that the game is pretty shallow and not something I will be playing long term. The endgame was okay for a little while too until I did each endgame mission a couple of times. For the duration of the campaign I had a fun time especially with friends. With that being said gameplay is fun and frantic. Destiny easily has more builds per class than this. I think the other two classes fared a little better with build/loot viability but if you are looking for any long term depth or build crafting then I don't know if you will find it here. The pyro was also stuck running a single build due to severely underwhelming DPS when you tried other stuff. I was forced into close range weapons because that was the only way to regain health for the trickster, so using anything besides the shotgun as the main weapon was severely nerfing yourself. The story was pretty okay and has decent pacing but everything else was kind of meh.īuild system at least for my trickster was literally one single viable build really with only a couple of talent options that don't meaningfully change how you play. I thought it was the other way around to be honest.
